Alive today

Jesus lived
And Jesus died.
Jesus died,
And rose again
Today he’s with me,
By my side.

Thank you, Jesus, that you live today.

I can’t see you

I can’t see you
But I know that you’re here.

You’re here
In the morning,
And you’re here
In the night.

You’re here
When I’m smiling,
And you’re here
When I’m sad.

You’re here
When I’m busy,
And you’re here
When I’m quiet.

You’re here
When I’m coping,
And you’re here
When I’m not.

I can’t see you
But I know you’re here.

When

When I wake up
You welcome me.

When I go out
You walk with me

When I sit down
You rest with me.

I find strength
And comfort in you.

Grace

When I’ve been good,
You love me.

When I’ve been bad,
You love me.

When I’ve done well,
You love me.

When I’ve gone wrong,
You love me.

Whatever I’ve done
And however I’ve been
You love me.

Jesus

Jesus,
I’m sorry that …
(think of some things that you want to say sorry for)

Jesus,
I’m thankful that …
(think of some things that you want to say thank you  for)

Jesus,
I need your help to…
(think of some things that you want Jesus to help you with)

Sorry,
Thank you,
Please be with me.

Amen.

Tell

Jesus, I know you
And Jesus, I love you.

Help me to tell
Others about who I know

And about who I love.

Explore (repent & believe)

Easy

It’s easy
To do wrong things,
To say wrong things,
To think wrong things,
And to want wrong things,

It’s harder
To do the right things,
To say the right things,
To think the rights things,
And to want the right things.

I’m sorry for
When I’ve done the wrong thing,
Said the wrong,
Thought the wrong thing
Or taken the wrong thing.

Help me to
Do the right things,
Say the right things,
Think the right things
And want the right things.

Thank you, God.
Amen.

When

When I’ve been wrong,
It’s hard to say sorry.

Mum says to say it,
Dad says to say it,
Teachers say to say it.
But I don’t want to say sorry.

When someone’s been wrong towards me,
I want them to say sorry.
But just like me, they seem to find it hard
And often don’t say it –
And it makes me feel sad.

When I’ve been wrong,
And I don’t say sorry to you.
I’m sorry.

Thank you that you gave yourself for me.
Thank you that you forgive me.

Looking

The world is such a big place.
Big,
Wide,
High,
Full.

There are so many people.
Big,
Small,
Short,
Tall.

I can feel so small.
Lonely,
Confused,
And uncertain.

Feeling that something’s missing –
But not sure what it might be.

I find myself looking
For things to make sense,
Add up,
Feel good.

I find myself looking –
For you.

May I find you when I look.

I believe

I believe in you, God.
I believe that you are God.

I believe in you God.
I believe that you created the world.

I believe in Jesus.
I believe that he is God’s son.

I believe in Jesus.
I believe he died for me.

I believe in Jesus.
I believe he lives today.

I believe in God’s spirit.
I believe that he walks with me today.

I believe.

Christmas

What is Christmas all about?

What is Christmas all about –
A man in a gown,
Flying above my town?

What is Christmas all about –
Gifts in a box,
Seasonal socks?

What is Christmas all about –
Parties, games and crackers
Like nothing else matters?

No, Christmas is more –
So very much more.

There’s God come to earth,
A child just like me.
Take a look
In his book
And there you will see;

A Christmas that’s real,
A Christmas that’s true,
The love of our God
For me and for you.

Waiting

I’m waiting,
Waiting for Christmas;
For turkey,
Mince pies
And chocolate.

I’m waiting,
Waiting for Christmas;
For cards,
Presents
And chocolate.

You’re waiting,
This Christmas;
You’re waiting,
For me.
For me to stop waiting
And to welcome you in.

Someone special

Angels
And song.

Shepherds,
Sheep and
Stable.

Wise Man
And gifts,
With camels.

All for a baby.

Must be someone special.

Tough

At this busy time of year
It’s hard to stop and think.
To think of others
For whom it’s hard
And life is tough.

At this busy time of year
With so much fun to share.
Help me to stop
And think and pray
For those where life is tough.

God over all

God of hope,
You made this world in love

God of love
You made us to live in peace

God of joy
You made us to be joyful

God of my life
You gave us Jesus

God over all
This Christmas

We give ourselves to you.

Power

Always True

Walking with me,
Standing tall.
You will hold me
When I fall.

When I’m weak,
You’re always strong.
Right and perfect
When life seems wrong.

Always with me,
Always true.
You’re my Saviour
All life through.

Your kingdom come

In my home;
May your kingdom come.

At my school (or where I work);
May your kingdom come.

In my town;
May your kingdom come.

In this country;
May your kingdom come.

In your world;
May your kingdom come.

In my life;
May your kingdom come.

When

When I think
That I know best.
Let me turn to you.

When I’m sure
That I am right.
Let me look to you.

When I know
Just what to do.
Let me ask you first.

For yours is the Kingdom
The Power
And the Glory.
Amen.

Strength

When I should say “yes”.
Give me your strength to say “yes”.

When I should say “no”.
Give me your strength to say “no”.

When I should stay put.
Give me your strength to be still.

When I should go.
Give me your strength to be on my way.

Whatever I say
And wherever I go
Thank you that I can rely
On your strength and power.

Prayer for leaders

We pray for those who lead us;
For teachers,
For managers,
For council leaders,
For Members of Parliaments
For Ministers
For the Royal Family.

May they use their power wisely,
Acting with honesty
And integrity.

We thank you for those that know you,
May they reflect your love in the way they lead.

We pray for those that need to know you.
May they see you in the lives of others.

Pray

We pray for the powerless
In our world today.

Those without money;
Those without a home;
Those without enough food or water;
Those without freedom;
Those without a voice.

May they know your power in their lives.

Help us to shape a world where your power reigns.

Peter – growing in discipleship

Always

Sometimes I seem so small
And the world
Seems so big.

Sometimes I feel so lost
When everyone around me
Seem to know exactly what to do.

Sometimes I feel so alone
When all the people I know
Seem to have gone away.

Sometimes I feel so weak
And I need to be strong,
There’s so much I need to do.

Always
I know that you are close;
Bigger than the world can be,
Showing me what to do,
Holding my hand.
And making me strong.

Thank you.
Always.

Amen.

No matter

No matter how hard I try
I seem to get things wrong;
Know what to say -
But can’t find the words.
Know what to do -
But can’t find the will.
Know where to go -
But turn the other way.

No matter
What I say
Or do;
No matter
Where I go;
Your perfect
All forgiving grace
And love
Is all you ever show.

What we can be

Peter was a good man
His heart was good as gold.
He left his fish,
At Jesus’ wish.
And always gave tenfold!

Peter was a good man
You knew just where he stood.
He spoke his mind,
Tried to be kind
And if he could, he would!

Peter was a good man.
He loved the Lord for sure,
It was never that long,
Before he got things wrong.
But Jesus just loved him more.

Peter was a good man.
So much like you and me.
He tried to be good,
Like he knew he should.
And he’s shown what we can be.

Thank you

Thank you
That you are strong when I am weak.

Thank you
That you are right when I am wrong.

Thank you
That you forgive when I forget.

Thank You
That you are big when I feel small

If

If we loved
Half as much as you
Then the world would be a loving place.

If we cared
Half as much as you
Then the world would be a caring place.

If our lives
Were just a little more like yours
Then the world would be a better place.

Help us to love, care and live more like you.

Relationships

Thank you

You have made the world
Full of people.
Friends, family and strangers.
Thank you for those that I know,
For those that care for
And love me.
Thank you for those that I see each day,
Those who I talk with
And those that I spend time with.
Help me to be a good friend,
To care for and love them too.

The way I am

Father God,
You love me just the way I am.
You know when I’m good
And you know when I’m bad.
You love me just the same.
Nothing I can ever do,
Nothing I can ever say,
Nothing I can ever think
Will ever stop you from loving me.
Help me to learn from your love
So that I may learn to love you
And all those people that I meet
In a similar way.

Belong

Thank you for my home.
Thank you for the love and care
That I am shown there.
Thank you for my family
And knowing that I belong.

Thank you for my church.
Thank you for the people there.
Thank you for their friendship,
Their prayers,
The care that they show
And the support that they give.

May I show love in my home
And in my church.
Praying and caring
And offering support
To my family at home
And my family at church.

For some

For some families
All is not happy or well;
People are ill;
People no longer like each other as much as they once did;
People argue;
People lose their jobs;
People don’t have enough money;
People spend more than they have;
People don’t have enough food.

We pray for;
Comfort for those who are ill;
Understanding where people have fallen out;
Peace for those who disagree;
New starts for those who need work;
Financial stability for those in need;
Self-control for those who act without care;
Food for those who are hungry.

Help us to know how to offer
Support, comfort
And practical help for those in need.
We pray that they will look for,
And find,
You and the love that you have for them.

Bless

God bless mums
And God bless dads.
God bless sons and daughters,
Brothers and sisters
And all those people that I know.

When life is good, bless them.
When life is tough, bless them.
When they get along well, bless them.
When they’re fighting, bless them
Bless them every day
And every night.

Together

You created us to live together.
Help me to live in peace

With those around me.

Communion

Jesus wants us to remember him. He gave us this meal. Bread. To remember that he was real – A body like ours That was bruised ...
