Peter – growing in discipleship

Always

Sometimes I seem so small

And the world

Seems so big.

Sometimes I feel so lost

When everyone around me

Seem to know exactly what to do.

Sometimes I feel so alone

When all the people I know

Seem to have gone away.

Sometimes I feel so weak

And I need to be strong,

There’s so much I need to do.

Always

I know that you are close;

Bigger than the world can be,

Showing me what to do,

Holding my hand.

And making me strong.

Thank you.

No matter

No matter how hard I try

I seem to get things wrong;

Know what to say -

But can’t find the words.

Know what to do -

But can’t find the will.

Know where to go -

But turn the other way.

No matter

What I say

Or do;

No matter

Where I go;

Your perfect

All forgiving grace

And love

Is all you ever show.

  

What we can be

Peter was a good man

His heart was good as gold.

He left his fish,

At Jesus’ wish.

And always gave tenfold!

Peter was a good man

You knew just where he stood.

He spoke his mind,

Tried to be kind

And if he could, he would!

Peter was a good man.

He loved the Lord for sure,

It was never that long,

Before he got things wrong.

But Jesus just loved him more.

Peter was a good man.

So much like you and me.

He tried to be good,

Like he knew he should.

And he’s shown what we can be.

Then the world would be a loving place.

If our lives

Were just a little more like yours

Then the world would be a better place.
